Rhubarb Bounty in June

$600.00

You know that moment when your rhubarb patch produces so abundantly that you need help carrying it all? Can you imagine the weight of those thick, cool stalks in your arms, the tart green smell of crushed rhubarb leaves mixing with spring soil? Picture yourself gripping armfuls of crisp stems alongside someone you love, both of you laughing at the sheer volume of what the garden has given. Pale hands clasp together around a dense bundle of long rhubarb stalks. The smooth, luminous skin of the hands contrasts against rough, papery leaves with prominent veining. Massive rhubarb foliage in varying shades of sepia creates dramatic movement obscuring the gardener's face. This artwork expresses the abundant gratitude that comes when the garden gives more than you hoped for and you realize the blessing of sharing that plenty.

Envision this joyful artwork in your kitchen or dining room, where guests who garden will immediately recognize that moment of happiness from harvest abundance. Friends will share their own stories of crops that exceeded expectations and the pleasure of sharing bounty with loved ones. This piece celebrates both the generosity of well-tended soil and the human connections that deepen when we share what we grow.

I was inspired to create this piece because of the joy and gratitude I felt for the abundance my garden provides. It expresses that feeling of accomplishment mixed with wonder at nature’s generosity. I am passionate about growing my own food around my urban home. Since I live in New England, the climate is perfect to grow rhubarb. I love the sweet-tart flavor in bakes, jams, cakes, and pies. It also is a beautiful landscape plant that looks lush and tropical.
