She's a Pepper Pot

from $750.00

Who says gardening can't be glamorous? This photograph expresses the delightful double entendre of bringing retro pinup style and humor to the everyday act of harvesting your vegetables.

A woman stands in her urban garden wearing a leopard print top, dark jeans, and striking red rubber high heels. Glossy red and yellow peppers overflow out of her back pockets like colorful accessories. She holds a deep purple eggplant and curved red peppers in her hands. Her bright red shoes match the peppers perfectly, creating an intentional play between femininity and food. The lush green cucumber vines climb behind her on the fence. The late afternoon summer sun casts sharp shadows on the concrete path beneath her feet. The juxtaposition of elegant heels on garden pavement makes you smile. You can almost hear the click of her shoes and feel the smooth skin of the peppers. The retro style reminds you of the victory garden movement of WWII when Americans grew 60% of thier produce in backyard and community gardens.

I speak my mind through my artworks. I engage my creativity to inspire feelings of deep interconnection with all living beings and with the environment to encourage conservation and sustainable habitation on Earth. I made this artwork as playful double entendre by shoving the peppers in my pockets, and dressing in a retro pinup style.
