Elation Upon Realizing God Has A Sense Of Humor

from $750.00

Have you pulled carrots from the soil and burst into laughter at their wildly suggestive shapes? This artwork expresses that joy, pride, and sense of earthy abundance, showing the delighted surprise that comes from discovering nature's playful sense of humor. Can you imagine the feeling in your hands of the smooth cool carrot stalks and smell the fresh earthy scent of soil still clinging to the roots? The gardener depicted in this artwork throws back her head in pure laughter, holding a bundle of bright orange carrots with their long green tops still attached. The carrots have grown in hilariously humanoid and phallic shapes that make you grin every time you look at them. The soft fabric of her lavender dress printed with cheerful yellow flowers contrasts beautifully with the vibrant orange of the carrots and the bright green of their feathery tops. Golden afternoon light bathes the scene, and a sparkle of sunshine forms a halo around her head with the lush garden stretching into soft focus in the background. This is the unrestrained joy that comes from embracing the unexpected gifts and comic surprises your garden offers.

This artwork celebrates the joy you experience when your garden surprises you with abundance and a good laugh at the same time.

When digging in the garden, I discovered these truly remarkable carrots and laughed out loud! They inspired me to create this whimsical artwork. I used the sun to create a symbolic reference to the divine, as you would see in European Medieval paintings where the main figures who are depicted as having a special spiritual significance typically have a golden glow around thier heads.
