First in Season Purple Top Turnip Harvest in June

from $750.00

There's something thrilling about holding the first spring vegetables of the season in your hands. This photograph expresses that reverence, honoring the quiet miracle of seeds becoming food.

A woman in a blue bicycle patterned dress holds a bunch of freshly pulled purple top turnips like an offering she is handing to you. The white roots still wear their delicate root hairs, evidence of being just moments out of the soil. Purple crowns the top of each turnip where it emerged from the earth. Vibrant green leaves cascade downward, still fresh and full of life. Her hands cradle the turnips gently, with care and respect. Soft natural light illuminates the pale roots and green foliage. The garden blooms softly out of focus behind her. You can almost feel the cool smoothness of the roots and smell the peppery freshness of the greens.

This signed and numbered archival print brings a sense of gratitude and mindfulness into your space. Picture it in your kitchen, reminding you to pause and appreciate where your food comes from. Or imagine it in your dining room, where it invites guests to recognize your committment health and well being by eating and serving fresh, tasty, organic vegetables at your dining table.

This was my first turnip harvest ever and I was so excited to enjoy them cooked in butter and garlic. Before I cooked them up, I created this photograph to celebrate the harvest. To create color harmony I selected an analogous color scheme of green, blue and purple. I love growing my own food because I can grow, eat and serve fresh, tasty, organic food free of chemical fertilizers and pesticides to my friends and family.
