Welcome! Click the Play Button to Watch My Wood Panel Transfer Process

I created these works from photographs I took at the Kampong Tropical Botanical Garden, in Miami Florida. I wanted to share the process with you for this triptych, featuring the star fruit tree at the Kampong.. I prepared three wood panels by spraying them with a subtle iridescent gold translucent coating, using an air powered spray gun. I chose to do this because the iridescent gold undercoat causes the highlights on the fruit to shimmer in a beautiful way. After it cures for 48 hours, I protect the edges with painters tape and I apply a clear primer coating to the face. Then 24 hours later I proceed with the image transfer.
