I have just updated my website with additional works from my series of photomontages depicting the endangered and threatened species of Costa Rica. I invite you to take a look! I would be very interested in suggestions you may have for a title for the series. I need a title that suggests the themes in the body of work. I have been struggling to create a title with meaning that doesn't seem overdone. I look forward to your feedback on the images and on your suggestions for a series title. In other news I am officially on sabbatical this semester, and I have big plans!
It is a real blessing to get this upcoming semester to focus on my work and art career. I am participating in the Artists Professional Toolbox offered by the Boston Arts and Business Council. So far it has been eye-opening, mainly because it is not taught by artists. I have taken many professional development classes and workshops in the past, all taught by artists. While these were helpful, they were limited in scope because the knowledge of the presenters was somewhat limited to knowledge of topics from within the discipline only. My other plans for my sabbatical include creating two new bodies of work, obtaining solo exhibitions in non profit venues, and obtaining gallery representation in NYC, Miami, or Los Angeles. I will be working with an intern to help me achieve my goals. In the later spring I will get a studio space and I plan to participate in the open studio events as well as open my studio on an invitational basis to local curators, critics, gallerists, friends, collectors and other art appreciators. If you would like to set up an appointment for a studio visit please be in touch. |
