My collages revisit biblical and historical individuals and stories and reveal links I recognize between spirituality and eroticism, thereby challenging the historical, western, religious, male-dominated view of the distinct separation between spiritual and erotic experiences. The body and its ecstatic capacities are intricately imbedded in spiritual experiences. This is widely understood in many eastern spiritual practices. The collages depict individuals, primarily from western cultures who take empowerment from their sexuality, and utilize their sexual energy to commune with the Divine.
