In my series of photographic images, Chimera, (2004) I imagine physically ambiguous bodies and use those bodies to explore visual gestures of romantic love and fantasies of ambe-sexuality. The poses and emotions expressed are sourced from art history and my intimate relationship with my life partner. I seek to express humor, play, intimacy, trust, love and lust through the images. The photographs reference the mythology of the notoriously sexually adventurous satyr deity from ancient Greece but my mode of working in the photographic medium makes the satyr figure utterly contemporary. I use sumptuous colors and sensual lighting as a form of visual seduction.
