Current Exhibit and News
I hope you are enjoying the summer! I love the summer as it is my time to work in the studio, develop my photography curriculum, work in the garden and enjoy the outdoors. I have been working on a series of photographs exploring the water resource issues associated with climate change in Peru, which will be made public next year in a solo debut at NKG Gallery in Boston. Chain Letter Exhibition @ Sampson Projects The Chain Letter Exhibit is happening internationally at multiple venues simultaneously. Locally in Boston where I live, Camillo Alvarez (gallery owner of Sampson Projects) sent an invitation to 10 artists to exhibit and those artists were invited to send it to 10 other artists that they admire, and those artists were invited to send it to 10 other artists they admire. Thus the exhibit was curated as a chain letter circulates. I will be showing my work "Houston 2200 A.D." at the exhibition in Boston. The exhibit will be up on July 16th-23rd. The show is a pop-up show for only one week, so don't miss out on the opportunity to see this unique concept exhibit! The gallery address is 450 Harrison St. Boston, MA. <> Recent News: Photo Lucida In April I attended a conference where I presented my artwork in one on one meetings with curators of photography, publishers, art writers, gallery owners, art consultants and other art professionals. It was a whirlwind experience with 18 meetings in 4 days. I got a range of responses to my work, but there were some threads of similar responses that give me food for thought on ways that I can make my artwork even stronger. I made some promising connections with some of the reviewers and look forward to further developing these professional relationships. I gave out a number of exhibition proposals and await responses. I really enjoyed meeting many photography artists and seeing so much good work, which I plan to share with my students next year. I got the opportunity to share my work with the public on an open portfolio night at the Portland Art Museum and several hundred people were in attendance. That was a fun way to share my work with many people very quickly.
